Just bought an 88 Power Ram. All the truck nerds @ my shop (I'm a scenic carpenter, not much of a mechanic... yet) insisted I get a Dodge Pickup when I moved farther away from work and my bike would no longer cut it. I only had $5000 upfront, and wanted an older model because I'd like to make a hobby out of this and could never dream of maintaining something too computery.
I found it on auto trader with a supposed 119000 miles for $4000, and it looked great. No rust issues, just a few paint bubbles and the engine ran great. I felt proud of my purchase till my Dad took a look under my hood and told me it'll never pass inspection (legaly) again if I don't fix the emissions issue.
So, I've got some work to do! No surprise there.
If money weren't an issue I'd like to mod this beast out for maximum efficiency (Not planning on excessive hauling). But since I'm not rich, I'm just hoping to keep it running until... I dunno... I am rich.
Nice to be here!
