Long time admirer and first time owner of a dodge. Budget kept me with limited options but i love my new (to me) 2000 Durango! That said, I do have a question that I can't find an answer to after 2 hours of internet searches, though there are some other interesting and related issues out there. I hope my noob question isn't to embarrassing.

My truck has the factory keyless antitheft system with remote start. My issue is, that when i close the doors it beeps once, then around 30 seconds later it arms the alarm even though i did not lock the doors! So if i go to open the door, the alarm goes off and all of the other campers stare at the guy who keeps arming his loud alarm haha.

Is there a way to set it so the alarm only arms when I lock the doors with the fob or otherwise?
