Default Howdy gang.........

.....Just wanted to drop in for a quick hello.....and greetings to all!

Just purchased my first Ram...an 04 with the 5.9 CTD..(I was always a GMC guy)

great truck...the dealership is still finalizing the delivery as I did mention upon test running the truck that after a 20+ mile run on hi-ways and secondaries, and after I let it idle for a minute or so in my driveway...the engine just "shut down"....no warnings...just stopped.

I hit the ignition but it wouldnt start....WOW......waited 5 minutes and it again started and idled...and again....same...stopped!

After 5-7 minutes it flashed up again and idled away the best kind and drove back to dealership the best kind...

they are presently checking

Anyone here have a similiar issue in the past

Im a Marine engineer and have spent all my life around diesels so Im thinking
Fuel Solenoid and or relay(Shutdown)
Hot idle adjustment to 750rpm
Overflow valve
or airleaks....

thanks gang and i look forward to the info share and banter....

all the best

mick
