Hey I am new to the forum and threading. A novice mechanic also. Just bought a Dodge caravan 1993. With 170,000. For $1100. Starting to go thru it. I am broke so I can't afford any professional work. Had to level off transmission fluid not by much about 1/2 quart. Could be low for any reason. No leaks yet will keep an eye out for that. That could go back years. Family owned in great shape apparently. Next I changed the oil and filter, put 5w-30 in. It's a 3.3L and I live where the temps are about 10 degrees at night. Can change that down road as winter approaches, any suggestions?. Live in southeast Alaska. Mild winters here. Then changed air filter and wiper blades. No money at moment. Next will be a radiator flush. I am a little nervous so if anyone has any suggestions let me know. If I am succesful there I will try to change Transmission fluid and mabey front brake pads, fuel filter and so on. It needs power steering fluid also. Can a person change power steering and brake fuild easy or should they? Let me know. So that is it. Any questions or comments ? Should I use any products like fuel injection cleaner or others. I am careful not to disrupt the engine or transmission to much because in my experience a person has to be careful. Call me crazy but after 170,000 miles engine and transmission get use to there setting. Tell me what you all think of that. Anyway if this all works it for couple hundred bucks my car will be winterized and ready to roll. Later Eric.
