Default Hello :)

Hello, my name's Dustin. I first joined here to ask some questions, do some research, and just check out civilian-owned Mopars. I'm from western Indiana. I turned 17 on July 4th. I just got a job working at Taco Bell, working for $7.25 an hour, which will suck.

I've grown up around Mopars of all kinds. My dad has a 1967 Dodge Dart GT. It isn't carshow quality by any means, but I find it unique and rare because I do not often see '60s Darts, let alone 1967 Dart 2-doors. I feel they do not get the respect they deserve.

Back in 1990, my dad bought a Dodge Dakota when it was 3 years old, still nearly perfect condition. It has a 3.9L V6 with a 5-speed manual transmission and an 8.5' bed. He treated it well for the most part, only putting roughly 4,200 miles on it per year. Unfortunately, with Indiana weather it has been used, abused, and hasn't been treated very well by the salt the cities blanket the roads with during winter.

A few years ago, my dad upgraded to a 2003 Dodge Dakota regular cab with a 6' bed and a 5-speed manual with the 3.9L V6 Magnum. Since purchasing this new truck, he set the '87 Dakota side to slowly rot away. Recently, with getting my license in June, my dad has given me the 1987 Dakota. Before I received my license, my uncle borrowed the truck. Due to lack of oil in the transmission (and other reasons), the tranny shattered and needed replaced. Just today my dad and I finished installing a 1989 A535 5-speed manual. We still have to replace all of the brakes, rewire some components in the engine compartment, and transfer the title.

Though it isn't much to look at, if anyone would like to see the truck, I can take pictures and post them for all to see.
