new to forum, i was reading some of the comments about the ram 1500 mds hemi, and have a different story to tell, in 2007 i bought a bran new crew cab 4x4 1500 with mds 5.7 hemi, when i left the dealership, in phoenix az, i was on cruz control set 55 mph , eastbound i 10, i looked up at my mpg computer and was amazed when i saw it was reading 23 mpg, and continued to do so for many miles while set on cruz, i was concerned and called the dealer, they said this was not the fist time they heard this, i told them the mpg computer was broke and i wanted it replaced, they laughed and told me to give it time to reset and adjust after a few miles, so i did, to this day 50k miles latter, at 55mph i get 23-25 mpg on flat land, and at 65 i get 19-21 on flat land, and 75 mph i get 17-19mpg on flat land, this is not just the computer readings these are actual odometer readings against gallons of gas. i have had no problems at all with this engine and would recommend it to anyone.
