Hey everyone, I've been lurking around here for awhile but finally got my "new" ram home so decided to jump in.
My project is an 84 prospector reg cab s/b, 318 auto 4x4 w/air and cruise. body is rough, engine sounds great, has about 1200lbs of junk on the back of it. Drove it about a mile and a half from where it sat for 3 years to where it's sitting now. It was a farm truck for 5 years before it was parked.
As far as what I want to do with it, I have a few ideas ranging from easy to extreme, depending how bad it all turns out to be once I tear into it. For now I'll be happy to start it and run it, if it can make it to the dump, hardware store and home again I'll be happy.

Got a 2000 1500 Ram and did the following:
1. CAI
2. Computer to increase HP
3. Flowmaster 50
4. New seats (leather)
5. New carpet
6. Painted door trim...need to redo
7. Removed bedliner (white looks good, may get coated)
8. replaced rusted tailgate
9. new sound
10. New mirrors
11. New tail lights (LED)
12. New 3rd Brake light
13. New tires
14. Outlaw II Rims
15. new front and rear bumpers and trim (don't fit right, aftermarket sucks in this area)
Still need done:
1. Headliner
2. Body work (need a bedside)
3. Paint.
4. Dash cap
5. Fix front bumper
Got it because of the low miles, fun to drive, but stress that I spent too much fixing it...oh well, when it's done I'll love it

Thanks for the warm welcome...
A few of the ideas I'm tossing around...
1) Fix it up as is, get everything mechanically straightened out, use it and give it no further thought.
2) Rebuild it mechanically, tear the body off and cover the frame with the body of a 49 fargo I have out in the field.
3) Rebuild it mechanically, tear the body off and try to find a crew cab to put on the SWB frame, shorten the front fenders and fab a 3 or 4 foot box for the back, kind of a hummer look. I saw an early 80's chev like this and it blew my mind, been daydreaming about it for 6 years or more.
4) Strip the powertrain/drivetrain out and find an old Jeep cj to wedge it into.
Like I said, ideas from easy to extreme, wish me luck
