Dually vs. CC rear axle

I have a '94 CC flatbed and am looking for a newer model. Is it correct that on a dual wheel truck the "dually" rear axle is wider than a CC rear axle? The truck I am looking at has a wider rear axle than mine. Both Ram 3500's.
