Just bought a 2005 Durango and I am currious about the extended warranty. The dealer said about 1200 dollars for the warranty. I do know that the price is negotiable. So how much are people paying for the extended warranty. Thanks

 

What does the "Extended Warranty" cover? Is it an extension of the 36k/36mo bumper-to-bumper?

 

Yes..instead of 3/36...it goes to 7/70 bumper to bumper..

 

Sounds like a pretty good deal... But dealerships seem to get an insane markup on that stuff.. Google "Extended Service Warranties" and you'll see several warranty companies who offer the same bumper-to-bumper coverage for, sometimes, hundreds of dollars less.. Often, the only thing not included in these warranties are the "wear and tear/regular maintenance" stuff that isn't covered by the dealership'r warranty either..
