Default Just an Old Dodge Lover

Hello everyone, I am called the Patriot of Pensacola FL and you'll find all you want on myspace just type thepatriotofpensacolafl and you'll be at myspace. Now I bought an old 1992 Dodge Dakota Cub Cab and I removed the back seat and made a tool box area. I have always wanted to do that and it has worked out beyond expectations.
I read about one person who wanted to add subwoffers to the back and I say go ahead with your option 2 in the sidewalls there is more than enough room. To everyone on ebay is an amp made primarily for motorcycles that has an FM tunner and a remote just search under amps and you'll find it at 300AMP that is some power in a small amp and the price well it will shock you at how low the price is under $50.
The help I need is I'd like to find a good set of bucket seats that will fit and mount in a Dodge Dakota and I am sure there must be a dozen different models that will fit and my local junk yard sells them at $25.00 each.
I wish I had took pictures before I started on this vehicle, the clear coat was almost non-exsistant as well as the paint, rust was actually bleeding through. Most would have spent tons on auto paint and primer, not me. secret Rustoleum paint want metal flake use the Aluminum and mix it with your primary color. When I was done everyone wanted to know how much it cost me to make it showroom new. When I told them the base cost under $50.00 they called me a liar. Now I have to admit without the clearcoat it would be just a satin finish and the clearcoat did cost me $114.00 with the reducer and hardner. However it is not near complete as I am using the hammer coat for the bottom 6" and a strip along with two strips of red after they are applied I'll add another 12 coats minimum of clearcoat.
Oh my vehicle is also very well lite, I love LED's, my wheel wells I painted white to reflect the Green 24 LED strips. I also used plenty inside the cab as well to light up the floorboards. There are LED's under the hood as well so if I need to get under it in the dark it is like daylight there. If you need LED's and great prices go to where the amps are at as well. As for my tail lights I use 36 led 1157's they are also on the turnsignals not many 1156 on a Dodge Dakota. If your like me and want to be seen you can get great marker lights these days that are LED, but I would recommend using the older ones and then using T-10 194 7 LED bulbs. They are cheaper, brighter and easy to change. Most of the newer LED markers when they go bad you have to change out the whole thing.
As for those old hazed over headlights a nice polishing compound and a drill buffer and about 5 minutes per light and you'll be seeing like new. As for this new product, not mentioning names, it is temporary. It looks great at first but a month or two of wind, rain and sun and your back to that 30 second cleanup again. So if your going that route be sure to hang on to that second bottle or do as the old man (Did I mention I am 61) and just buff them out they will last longer and brighter about once a year just to keep them shinning.
Now I mentioned my age so maybe I should tell you why they call me The Patriot. I got the name long ago when I started riding motorcycles after returning from Vietnam 68-69. I ride my ride and well I am an Airbrush artist as well so you can see the ride at myspace.
Now I left my email open to anyone to respond to me and if you can help with my question about the bucket seats it would help me save time, otherwise I'll be measauring and running around the old junk yard rather than riding my 2006 1600 Vulcan Nomad enjoying all those hotties at Pensacola Beach. Listen I know I am a bit older than most of you here on these forum and so if I can help you cut corners save money and enjoy your rides I am here to help you all and I hope I can count on your help as well. You fellows with the older Dodge Dakota's, the ones that still look like Pickup trucks and not car frontends I'd love to hear from you. Don't get me wrong you fellows with the newer Dodges, you made a great purchase. Dodge has made one of the best Pick-ups for over 50 years and yes you'll get rebutal from the ford and chevy guys, but just count the Dodge Pickups from 1995 and older on the road today and see if you see as many of the midsize fords and chevies on the road and you'll know.
Some people ask me why I ride a Kawasaki rather than a Harley and my answer is I bought it to ride and you bought yours for the resale value. When I say ride I mean exactly that, I can't tell you how many smokes I had at the side of the road while my buddies fixed something on thier Harley. But I won't call them names or call their rides rice burners, I'd rather wave as I ride by some guy fixing his harley roadside.

Default Have you been to ebay lately

Just wanted to share some insight about ebay, I had bought some hard to find items there on Smithy's store got some great prices and he has those thing like Bezels for around the interior door latch. Believe me I had been to the junk yards and dealers for these items and they either aren't there or no longer Mfgr. by the dealer. Also got some great deals on USB amps for under $25.00 and I paid more for the one I got on my motorcycle and it is the same Mfgr out of China of course. Don't really want to go there, I am a bit over zealous about what is going on these days in Politics. Anyway I plan to go look into some bucket seats for my Dodge Dakota, I got a major list of the seats that will fit so maybe I will find some leather ones. Oh yeah I bought my custom fuel and brake petal covers in a Neon Green, my color theme has been green from the first day.
I appreciate all the welcomes I have recieved and it is a good feeling to know people are willing to take a moment to say hello. This 1992 Dakota cub cab is going to be an ongoing project vehicle so eventually it will have all the bells and whistles. If you ever start feeling low look into doing something new to your ride, it will get your blood moving and make life a little more worth while. I am glad I have my airtools they make life a little easier. Well keep truckin and I'll keep adding my comments and like I said if I can help you rundown some great deal, feel free to contact me. I hope you checked out my other location www.myspace.com/thepatriotofpensacolafl the same I think on the facebook page, all I know is they are linked together. If your in Pensacola FL or close by and need some airbrush work done let me know. Later my new friends, Alan
