I am not sure this is the proper place to post this question as I am new to DF??? Please advise.
I have owned my 1972 B-300, 1-Ton, van since it was new and have made many modifications over the years. Originally the van was a Chinook Camper Van and it seems it is one of a kind. Many years ago I started to recondition my van by overhauling the engine to the specks for 300 hp with an RV cam, Edelbrock Intake Manifold and 600 cfm Carb.. The most recent modification is the conversion from the A727 Transmission to an 518 overdrive Transmission. The van new weighed about 4,800 lbs. and now weighs 6,200 lbs. There lies my question regarding new springs front and rear. The van is rated at 7,700 Gross Vehicle Weight as manufactured. I now have about 2 or 3 inches travel before bottoming out on the springs. What springs must I install to get my original heigth back which was about 4 to 5 inches. I think 8,200 GVW springs may do the job. I also plan to purchase a Crate Engine and need advice on this subject also. Any suggestions would be helpful.

Welcome to the site. Is this related to the Ram van?

Thanks for the welcome.
The B-300 is pre-ram van. I think the Ram Van name started to be used in the 90's.
