New from Tucson
I have a 1996 Dakota Club Cab 4x4 I just purchased from a private owner and it had 80,065 original miles on it and now has 81,800 since I am driving it most every day too and from work. I bought it as an extra vehicle with a bed since having gotten a Tahoe and needed the bed space for hauling.
So far so good. Just the minor stuff like fuel gauge not reading properly, T-case is leaking a bit, and the infamous noise coming from somewhere in the lower front of the engine when at idle. (Or at least that's where it sounds like). It drives like a dream and has had the recalls and tsb's performed with documentation and physical eveidence apparent. If she blows then it's off to my father-in-laws AC/Delco shop for a rebuild. Its nice to have "family owned and operated" at your disposal.
It has a receiver hitch and front end tow connectors since the previous owner towed it from Michigan behind his pusher.
Things I like most are: AMERICAN MADE, 4x4 with manual engagement lever not push button electronics, Club cab has a small but useful bench seat in the rear, Solid drive line without a 2 peice drive shaft which I hate, Overall ground clearance is higher than most being all stock and no lift(s), It's still all stock with no mods and even the factory radio (I'm a purist).
Dislikes: Still has the IFS front axles, the afore mentioned minor mechanical issues.
Overall I luv my truck
