new to trucks and to the forum.
bought our first truck its a 1996 Dodge Ram 2500 SLT Laramie, its got the 5.9 liter ,it needs love and already on my way to making it a better vehicle.
some issues,
-passenger header cracked, leaking
-dash lights are out
-running taillights are out, blinkers/reverse work
-cruise control doesnt work
_rough gear engagement especially 1st & reverse.
-and the truck broke down the day we bought it 150 miles into the trip back home, clogged cat(i sawed it off, hehe) perfect excuse for an exhaust system, but for now stock headers.
i got all this for the awesome price of $2750.
Love mechanics anything with an engine, have a couple of bikes, have had cars, currently own a Subaru, yes yes i know. i enjoy it though.
i am a mechanic by trade (aviation side) same concept though.
my goals are to turn the truck into something tasteful.

cleaning the cab, previous owners were smokes and pet lovers
surprisingly in great shape
lovely exhaust leak
de-greased everything yesterday, round 2 tomorrow then some engine detailer
where i had to saw off the cat in the middle of the night
maintenance items
coolant, oil, filter, air filter (installed), new headers (pair)
well there she is, comments welcome.
