Not a new dodge guy but a NEWBIE to the site..
My name is Keith.. I am from Indiana and an avid truck mechanic.. Well at least I think so, I am what my wife calls a DIY mechanic.. I have owned a 2001 Dodge quad cab ram in the past then sold it to be able to bild our house.. Well I recently purchased another Dodge ram, just something about the solid front axle and that they are the only trucks that still have a floor shifter for the 4WD.. Enough for the intro, now caomes the time for me to ask you all for help!!! when i got the truck it was leaking antifreeze, so I decided to cahnge all the gaskets that I could.. NEW intake gasket, new timing chain gears, new timing cover gasket, new water pump and gasket, all new hoses... Well when I got it all together I drove it first everything was doing alright... then my wife drove it the next day and for some reason the oil light came on and the oild gauge dropped to nothing.. When I got home from work I went to check it out, started the truck and oil pressure was good, but when I gave it gas the opressure would drop.. So I made some calls and some people told me to replace the sending unit, did that and all was good untill I got it home and it had done it again light on, gauge dropped but the truck was running good.. no rattles no smoke nothing.. A buddy tol me that maybe the filter was bad I had just changed the oil and filter when I had done all the gasket stuff, but I figured it was worth a try.. It all seemed good, I drove the truck around the house for almost 3 days and then just the other day it done it again, light came on the gauge dropped but the engine was still running good no noises or nothing.. SORRY for such a long intro but I am hoping that someone might have some insight as to what might be wrong with my truck, dont know if it is something in the wiring or what, so PLEASE if anyone has any input,, I would be GLAD to hear it.. THANKS
