Newbie for Mopars
Greetings everyone.
Briefly, I've been a grease monkey since I got my first car when I was 10 years old.
At the moment I own -68 and -69 classic cars (projects) and the daily driver.
I have been looking around to find a decent truck for me. I'm planning on getting a trailer and a car that can tow the trailer.
I really like the 2002-2008 models of Dodge Ram Quad Cabs.
My questions:
Should I go with 2500 or 1500 series? I would use the trailer to tow my -68 Nova to drag strip every now and then. I prefer gasoline engines. I have had a couple of diesels with a lot of torque but I still like more the smell of gasoline.
Should I go with 4x4 or 2wd? I live in Michigan, so I'm worried about the 2wd driveability at winter times.
Quad Cab and long bed seems to be more hard to find than Quad Cab short bed. How have you guys survived with short beds? Is there any driveability differences when you tow a trailer?
Engine: Is 4.7L sufficient or should I just look for 5.7L hemi models?
Thanks in advance.
