Default hello all! new guy who has questions and needs help :s

hello everyone! i am a proud owner of a 1997 dodge ram 1500 4x4 with 5.2L v8, but unfortunatley my transmission has failed me it has no reverse and no 4th gear. so i have 2 questions.

1: What kind of transmission do i have?

2: Does anyone have one for sale, or know of someone who can rebuild it for a reasonable price?

Thanks!

Welcome Aboard br25! Stay tuned - a Technician (or member) will jump in shortly to provide a possible solution. In the meantime, don't forget to browse Sub-Forums: Ram for stuff related to your ride.

You have a 46RE Chrysler Torqueflite ..It has 14 pan bolts.....Since most transmission repair is mostly an local option, It is a good idea to find folks in your neighborhood that drive these trucks and ask them.....It is a very good probability that they have already faced this repair......Goodluck !!

The 46RE was introduced in 93........you can pretty much use any year 46RE out of the dodge truck ,but use the correct governor sensor and harness for the year you have....
