Default Dodge B-100 advice on towing a trailer

I have a 2000 B-100 conversion van, 130,000 miles on a 318 with a 4 speed auto, avarage maintanence. I want to tow a tent trailer < 1500# gvw. Do you think that the van will make it across and around the country with the trailer? Should I rebuild the tranie before the trip? any things to watch out for. This is the familly trip of a lifetime.

If the van has been maintained properly, I would tow an 8k # load cross country with that van. If the tranny isn't slipping now, a 1500 # load will not cause it to start. 130k miles is not very high for the 318/46RE.
