I bought the car maybe 2 months ago.....the oil light was on....i figured it was cause the car was a junker...n that it was always on...so i left it alone.....2 days ago i got a sputtering sound......a nice man told me he thinks i need oil...so i put in oil and the sound goes away. (i was COMPLETLEY OUT OF OIL) the next day the sound comes back but not as loud. i drive it to the mechanic n he tells me i have a crack in the oil pan. and that he's going to charge me 325 to fix it! i was like NO. So i drive the car home......and it starts sputtering everytime the car is stopped on in drive. if it's in park i'm ok. well when i'm still in drive and i'm stopped the car will shut down on me. and i'd have to start the car all over again. Does anyone have any ideas to helpme fix the car? Can i just fix/replace the oil pan and i'd be ok? or do i need a new engine?
