Recycled an old Dodge, I guess I'm green...
Hello from Surprise, Az! No, I'm not a hippie- I recycled by buying a "new", old truck! I come from a long line of GM owners, and I've had my share. I traded in my 07 Silverado over a year ago for my wife's car...Mistake! We missed having a truck ever since!
We decided to sell her car and use the equity for a used truck. Brand wasn't a criteria, but mileage, engine size and seating for 5-6 was. Man, there is alot of junk out there under the $3300 price tag! I found numerous trucks that advertised 125,000-150,000 miles. But carfax showed over 250-300,000 miles! Scammers!
I was blessed to find a 1998 Ram 1500 with 135,000 miles on the 5.2. It is 2wd, extended cab and besides faded paint, it's VERY CLEAN! The PO had it since 2003, and 66k miles. He had the window sticker, and all services records since he owned it. He was very meticulous and took care of his equipment, including putting Michelins on it. A brief summary includes:
90,000 mile service
105,000 -Rebuilt Transmission
2010- waterpump, radiator
2011- front brakes and wheel bearings, 4 shocks
2012- battery, a/c serviced
I was led to a gem in the desert. I don't care for the white shell, because it doesn't have windows. I listed it locally, and will pick up one with side windows some day.
Thanks for the intro- John
