Hello looking for advise,I have a 2003 1500 Ram 4x4 quad. I have no second gear. I had it to a shop and was told when they dropped the pan my second Gear belt was laying there. Belt was the name they used. Do they mean a Ban? They wanted 3500.00 to rebuild it. I asked if they leave it the way it is what would happen,I was told i would just not have a second gear. I've been driving the truck like this for a year now no problem. just have to get the rev's up a bit, back off the pedal slightly and let it drop into 3rd.
Would really like to remedy the problem, do I have any other option other than a rebuild?
