Default 2002 ram overheating

I have a 2002 dodge ram 1500 with the 4.7. I changed the heater core out and flushed the system and now it is overheating. I put a new thermostat in and It still I over heating. Is there something I have done to cause this. I did it once before on my brothers truck ( which is the same type) and did not have a problem.

Default Overheating mystery

I realized yesterday that there is a crack in the plastic pressurized tank allowing the system to boil instead of coming up to pressure. At the base of the neck for the radiator cap. Probably a common problem that is hard to spot.
