Ram or Charger
First off I would like to say hello to all those people who post messages on this board on a regular basis. I'm posting this message becasue I'm basically looking for advice on whcih vehicle I should purchase, and thought this would be a good place to get some. I'm looking to buy either a '05 Dodge Ram 1500 Quad Cab 4x4 with the Laramie package, or a '06 Charger with the Daytona package, and am having a really difficult time deciding which one. There are obviously pros and cons to each which I will list and hopefully you guys will be able to give me some advice in helping me choose.
Dodge Ram
Pros - Really like to looks of this vehicle, especially with the 20" rims
- offers plenty of cargo room for moving large items, and would help with moving furniture etc...
- Like the space that the interior offers, as well as the height advantage over other drivers
- can be driven year round
Cons - With gas prices the way they are, I don't know if it would be a wise investment (how many miles to a tank of gas?)
- The interiors are pretty simple and don't offer a lot of convenience gadgets
- gas prices again.........hehe
Dodge Charger Daytona
Pros - love the interior and all that it offers
- enough power in the engine to make me happy
- no to many of them on the road
Cons - not 100% sold on the exterior, but I am getting there
- not really sure how reliable it would be in the winter, being RWD and all
- obviously doesn't have the cargo capacity of the Ram or hieght advantage
Anyhow, that's all I can think of for now. I would really appreciate any insight all of you have and recomendations on which direction I should go...........By the way I have two small children which factors into the equation and my wife drives an 2002 Grand Caravan. Hope to hear from all of you soon, and thanks ahead of time

Well, IMO, if you are gonna go Ram...you should go Diesel....specially with the way gas is anyhow....
Rams are great trucks and other then gas prices, there arent too many cons I can think of...
I wouldnt go with the Charger either....like you said its RWD and you want something a lil more reliable. I think you'd be better off in a AWD Dodge Magnum....you get AWD, storage like a caravan....decent gas mileage...better then a gasoline driven Ram I do believe.....and you get that Charger style performance....
Thas just my .02

It's pretty hard to compare apples to oranges. You've just got to figure out what you need/ want most out of your vehicle. I personally am a truck guy. I love my Ram and wouldn't give it up for a car (I'd take both though!). Figure out which is most practical for you and what you'd get the most utility out of. Hope this helps at least a little.
