Hello everyone, I'm new to the DodgeForum and truck scene but not new to motorsports scene. I have been driving sport coupe for about 9 years now. I started on a 96 Camaro then 98 Camaro then 03 350Z and now (since 09) I have been driving 09 Nissan 370Z. Bought it brand new in 09.
As much as I love driving low to the ground, quick and nimble sports coupes, I have always wanted a truck. I started looking in Autotrader. After about 6 months of research, I finally found a truck that I liked and fit my budget. Also, I was hit pretty hard by hurricane Sandy. About $35,000 damage to our house and appliances/items. So I needed something that's haul stuff and keep me driving in the snow/winter so that I can keep the Z neat and clean. I pickup up this ONE OWNER 98 Dodge Ram 1500 Laramie SLT 4WD in November. I have never ever driven trucks. This is a completely new world to me. I'm very excited to be part of the new world. I am learning new stuff everyday. Truck has about 98,000 miles.
Everything seems in good conditions. I only paid $3200 (incl tax and tag fee). I think I did very well. Truck was listed for $4000. I walked in at the used dealer 4pm day before Thanksgiving and decided to tell them $3000 and walked away. My plan worked
.
Here are the pictures. I am into detailing. I have at least $2000 worth of detailing stuff at home. I'd say 75% Adams Polishes, 20% Chemical Guys and other 5% Detailer's Domain stuff. I have just washed the truck and put a thin coat of sealant that's it. I didn't even do any proper cleaning or paint correction. here's how it looks:

Gave it a quick wash and Adams Polishes Machine Super Sealant

Adams VRT on the Tires. Truck seems very well taken care of. 5.2L V8 American Muscle
I actually have the Dodge Decal now. That's the only thing pretty much missing exterior wise.
Full Size Bed. Backing up is a nightmare lol. I'm still getting used to this
I hand washed the whole truck bed and applied Adams VRT! Ate up 8 oz of VRT!
Interior pics:
Very Clean. I cleaned them again and applied fabric protector.
I have upgraded the Stereo to Alpine HU with all 4 brand new Kenwood Speakers. It sounds amazing now! I'll take some pics this week.
And This is my daily driver 09 Nissan 370Z
I'm glad to be here and I'll be making threads on questions as I go. I go the stereo system installed Last week:
Got the front brakes and rotor done tonight. Used Wagner Thermoquiet semi metallic. I haven't tested them yet properly because it's flooded everywhere
. Does anyone know the bed in process for these pads?
Sorry for the long post.

VERY nice Ram. Looks like you got a great deal. No rust anywhere and a spotless interior.
Good job, my friend.
Go to the 2nd gen Ram section and start reading the FAQs and stickies, you'll need them in the time to come.
Take care of her and she'll treat you well. Welcome to DF!

Welcome to the site. I would move this to the 2nd gen ram section so everyone there can welcome you but my powers here are weak..... Why you get rid of the Camaro?? I got a 94 Z28...love it.

Nice! LOVED the F-body camaroes! I almost cried when GM announced the new Camaro in 2006. I still remember watching the live footage. But I graduated in 2007. Everyone was getting a new car. I felt left out. Camaro started leaking serious oil through rear main seal. I thought,"Why not buy something for couple years and then I'll place an order for the 2010 Camaro SS". Well, I started driving, autox and tracking the 350Z. I started liking the lightweight nimble handling with VQ growl from the tuned exhaust. Then I never went back Originally Posted by jkeaton

. Still every time I see camaro on the road, part of me goes ,"Ahh.. I want that!" so I'm not sure. I may buy a Camaro in future. I am actually trying to convince my brother to get the 2014 SS
. Perhaps I'll finally get my dose of Camaro
Here are some pictures of my 96 Camaro

As you can see, I have always maintained my cars

Some pictures of my 98 Camaro

Every car I have owned, I loved it with all my life. Cars/motorsports are my hobby, passion, life -- whatever you call it. We all suffer from that syndrome in some ways

Thank you sir! haha yea I always took care and cleaned/detailed my car. PRE 2010 I have used local auto store detailing stuff. Since 2010, I kinda went PRO with Adams Polishes, Chemical guys, Detailer's domain, Sonnax, Autoglym and various other Companies. Here's an OLD picture from 2010. I have probably 3 times as much stuff nowOriginally Posted by Yinzer
Damn, your rides are clean. Looks like they just rolled off the showroom floor! Welcome to the forum!
