looking to get my first dodge
hey sup everyone my name is trenten but people call me tj for my middle name (john). i am 19 and live in missouri. my first car was a 200 kia sephia which was a pos, tranny went out in it then i moved up to a 1995 ford f150 which was a bigger pos and the tranny went out in it also. right now i own a 2001 chevy s-10 2.2l 5speed manual transmission truck which i love. i have replaced the timing chain valve cover gasket oil pan gasket front and rear main seals. the truck has 262000 miles on it and it is still running. for now . but it leaks oil which i am tired of replacing seals. but i am currently in the process of buying a 2000 dodge ram 1500 4wheel drive truck. which also has a v8
. so if all goes well this will be my place for research and help so thanks everyone.

Welcome to the forum, TJ!
I am not going to lie, 2nd gen dodges (1994 - 2001) tend to be needy creatures. The trucks themselves tend to be super strong, sturdy, and (comparatively) reliable... but they have their little quirks. There is a bit of work that should be done to them to get them to their max potential, but once you get those things done they are wonderful trucks. I have never ever been stranded by my Ram, and I have been driving it for 6 years now. Most of the info you'll need for them is stickied in the 2nd gen section of this forum.

ok thanks ill keep that in mind i love working on trucks and i am very good when it comes to fixing things so hopefully this truck last for me. the engine looks like it would be real easy to make repairs to if it ever needed them. can't wait to get the truck.
Welcome to the forum! Be sure and check out the 2nd gen Ram section. There is plenty of info there on these trucks in the DIY section, but also make sure you read the sticky on ther main page regarding the intake plenum in these trucks. If not done, that is a area that requires quick attention when you do get one.
