i just bought my first dodge yesterday. it's an '06 caravan only 50k miles. the only thing i can find wrong with it is the hazard lights come on for 5 seconds when the sliding doors are open. can anyone help me resolve this? or is this normal for this vehicle?

It is normal. It is a warning to the driver that the door opened. You will also find out too that you will be unable to open the drivers side van door if the gas door is left open.
