Default Crankshaft Sensor in Oil Pan - CO Dakota

hi,

I have a 4.7L Dodge Dakota 4x4. I tried to remove the crankshaft sensor to replace it. after much work, it fell into the crankshaft or the oil pan I presume. any suggestions? i'm afraid the next step is to lift the engine and remove the oil pan. What are your thoughts?

In case I am not up to the task, do you know any reputable/reasonable Dodge mechanics in the South Denver area?

thanks, john
