Default New to forum, Mopar guy from way back

Found the forum awhile back and finally decided to join. Have been a Mopar guy since I learned to drive grandpas 1961 Plymouth Fury, push button transmission shift and the 318 poly-head engine. Gramps had talked the dealer out the showroom car. Paint job was salmon (actually a nice color for the car). Known as 'The Pink Elephant" all through H.S.

My first car I bought in 1978 is my 1974 Dodge Charger. Original 318 but currently have a 1972 340 with sb 727 tranny that was bought from a Mopar buddy of mine who picked it up from a speed shop in SoCal. Milled over and polished 360 heads, Edelbrock LD 340 intake and a Holley 850 Double pumper. Got a few miles on it as does the car. Needs some cancer work from the northern winters, and a minor overhaul of some of the seals on the 340. New paint and top and she'll be like new.

Next is the 2001 Ram Quad Cab 5.9l Lariet LB. Use for camping, hauling ang long trips. The limited slip diff and 4 wheel ABS are my concession to winters back home when I visit. Only vehicle I ever owned that actually had my name on the window sticker as it was a special oder to get what I wanted. Curretnly only upgarde is a Volant air intake and performance plug wires (forget brand to many gray hairs). Plan to added ignition upgrade, shorty ceramic headers and a cat back system.

Last is my new 2005 Magum R/T. Already installed a Magnaflow cat-back exhaust, Mopar Performance (K&N) cold air intake, Weatherguard side window guards, mud guards, locking gas cap (fuel to expensive not to), and a stainless steel mesh grill from E&G Classics.

Lots of info here and am glad to be a member of the Dodge and Mopar community.

Welcome to the site. Great collection. That Charger looks like its been very well kept. It looks very good. It just a real testament to how well cars were built back then.

Nice looking rides!! I haven't seen too many of those shells around that you have on your truck. What brand is that? Welcome to DF!!

MGDMIKE,

The shell is an ARE. I got it for camping use as it gives me extra headroom. Have to say though that I have been disappointed with it. 9 of the origanal 11 windows had to be replaced for leaks between the glass and the aluminum window frame. Took ARE over 3 months to finally send the dealer the replacements. Now the rear hatch leaks when it rains. Have to pull it out and see whats up.

A 4 -door truck is like having a 4-door sedan with a trunk on steroids (short answer).
