So as I was driving my truck to town last night i stopped at a stop sign and took off again, as i was going down the road it started to sorta hop forward like it was having trouble with gripping the road. (lots of ice where i am)
Hit the gas again, and spiked up to 5000rpms and no movement. everything was locked up, while we winched it up on the trailer, there was tranny fluid all over the ground under it, and all over the front end, I haven't opened up the hood but does a burst hose sound reasonable? What do you get from this? Looking for options, I'm really hoping i don't have to rebuild the whole tranny.

How about telling us what vehicle you are talking about? Also maybe add some capitol letters to the beginning of your sentences so it is not so hard to read.
