Default 100% Certified Barn Find - '96 Ram 1500

Hello Dodgeforum!

I'm here because I need help with my barn find: a 1996 Ram 1500 with 210,000 mi. Wait, did I say barn? I meant slurry pit.

This summer, I purchased the truck for $375 from a farmer who had been using it to haul scrap around Johnsburg, IL. The fuel and brake lines were blown in the usual spot, the bed is more holes than metal, and the wear items clearly haven't been serviced in at least 50,000 miles. The driveline is strong, though, and I spent the last six months getting it drivable again. Now that it moves, I have a whole host of issues that are going over my head. I hope you'll help me dive into them!

The truck has been a great experience for me so far. I'm an engineer by trade and trucks are a complete break from all the weight-savings and corner-cutting that go along with typical engineering. Before I can have fun with it, though, I need to get some kinks worked out. Here are some threads to expect:
  1. Headlights that only turn on sometimes (and it's not the switch!) (ok, maybe it's the switch)
  2. A short to ground in the rear left brake light
  3. Stuck tcase shifter + exciting synchro noises
  4. Mild Thrust angle/dog-tracking
I'll see you in the 2G forums!
