New to Dodge Forum, but not to dodges.
I started playing with Dodges in about 1975. The fastest was a1969 Charger, 440 Mag, headers, high rise with a Holly 750 double pump carb, Dana positract, 1/2 inch cam, M60 tires on the front, M 80 tires on the back, and a B and M Hydro trans. It would pull the front end off the ground a minimun of four inches, and the speedometer would wind past 165 mph, then hit the peg where it usually rested when it was not moving. The car was still gaining speed. I never found out how fast it would really go.
The best was a 1953 Chrysler New Yorker. My wife and three daughters used to go from Stockton, Calif to Galveston, Texas twice a year (summer and Christmas) to see the girl's grandmother. We went through three engines in eight years of visits.
Now I have a 1997 Dodge Grand Caravan for winter driving, as I moved to Minnesota to be near my grand children, and a 1971 Volkswagen Bug as my summer driver. My youngest daughter has a 1993 Dodge Dakota four wheel drive pickup she allows me to keep running for her.
