Hello Dodge fellas
My name is Steve, I am a retired mobile crane and Sky Lift mechanic from Iowa. I just helped my grandson get his first car, a first generation 1993 Dodge Dakota LE 5.2 Extended Cab. I know very little about them but intend to learn as I help him to. My brother has a 1999 (2nd generation?) Dakota and hopes to learn a little more about doing more DIY on his, too. The closest thing I have as far as being a Dodge would be our 1940 Deluxe 2 dr Sedan Plymouth, sorry about that. I am very glad I found this site and especially the Dakota bunch as like most G-fathers I look forward to assisting my G-son and spending more time with him. I've already told his mother, my daughter, that working on my first vehicle was were I learned my best cuss words... other than the ones I got from my dad and his buddy whenever they were working late on their 1932 Coupe stock car trying to get the engine ready and would twist off even one of the headbolts on the flathead. I know my grandson will pick up allot here even if it's just that there's no such thing as a dumb question from what I've been reading (uhhhh, I mean lurking) here. Looking forward to getting to know all of you.
