Default Father and son enter the Dodge family.

Hello everybody. Just want to introduce myself. I am from Western NY and new to the truck world.
About a month ago, my 17 yr old son, who had saved money over the summer, and I began the search for his first vehicle. He wanted a truck so we started looking locally. After quite a while, we found a dealer that had a few a went to check it out. On the way, we saw a few on the side of the road but I figured a dealer would be a better option. There were several on the lot that we looked at. He found a stock black 2002 Ram 1500 SLT Quad Cab 4x4 with 193k, that he really liked. It ran great and sounded mean. After a test drive and a bit of haggling, we got it.
Well, I ended up obsessing over it and quietly started my own search. After about a week and a half, and a bunch of false starts, I found one that looked interesting. I ended up checking it out. It had issues like bad power steering pump, radiator, brakes were awful, and suspension was like riding in a tank. I talked the seller down and brought it home.
To say my son was furious with me would be an understatement. It turns out that the truck I got was the one he had really wanted but I talked him into buying from a dealer. My truck is the same as his just a 2003 with 126k on it. The big difference is mine has a 6" lift an bigger tires, exactly what he wants to do to his truck. Well, he finally calmed down and asked if we could trade. Of course, I had already thought of that but wasn't saying it.
It's not clear yet who will end up with what truck but either way, it'll be fun. Ther both need work and we can't wait to get to it. I'm sure we will be using this forum to figure most of it out.
These are pics of the trucks. The shiny one, with the bearded 17 yr old in it, is the 02.

My son's 02 1500 SLT Quad Cab 4x4.

My 03 1500 SLT Quad Cab 4x4 w/6\"lift.
