Newbie. Caliber sxt wanders
Just recently bought a dodge caliber sxt 2008 with 208,000 km was told it needs new tires, rotors and brakes for the front. Test drive it and indication those do need to be done. Stupid me didnt take it for highway test.
Found a bcaa inspection done 2000 km before purchase turns out control arm driver side bushings were worn out and filled with silicone and granola wrappers. Passenger side worn needs replacing also. Also right CV axle has no boot. Went to bcAA they remembered the guy and showed me a picture of his old driveshaft which was also held together with silicone, wrappers and zapstraps. They replaced the CV axle on right side that was it. I have done all the other repairs needed got all brand new tires and tie rod needed to be done to do alignment as well. They did say that they cant adjust the camber on the right side, yet I still cant go over 85km in nice road conditions without my steering feeling loose. It will veer to the right when I accelerate hard. Code reader is useless to me it says it has zero codes and everything is green checkmark. I asked the shop to check for calipers sticking they said all was good and even regreased. After control arms were installed it did raise the front of the vehicle up I assume that's probably where it should be as the control arms were very bad.
I've had many broken vehicles in my life that I've managed to always fix but this is the most ive ever sunk into a vehicle and still not feel safe driving the thing. It's been a month of this and my brains fried I need some outside opinions thanks!
I'll be checking the sway bar once the sun comes up.
