Default New member and first time owner of a gen 1

Hello I'm stoked to be on this forum and to own a gen 1 dodge ram. It's a 1990 w150 4 speed with about 170,000 on the body and frame and the previous owner put in a stroked 318 5.2L with about 38,000 on the motor. But im already having issues which comes with an older vehicle which I understand. If I post this in the wrong thread I apologize, but my truck will not hold a charge. I have replaced fusible links, and the alternator, and I can still not figure out why it isnt holding a charge. Had both the alternator and battery checked and both are good. First thing I noticed that the FL's were bad is when my cab light, cargo light and stereo quit working then the heater fan. Replaced the links, the heater fan works, but it still won't hold a charge and gives me the error code 41. I cannot find were the (if it has one) external voltage regulator is. Someone told me it was on the alternator other say it's in the ecm. Any tips or ideas are welcome thanks, and I look forward to enjoying this forum.
