08 Ram stuck in 4x4

08 Ram stuck in 4x4
2008 5.7 Ram SLT
I purchased this truck about a week ago with 226,000km on it. It burns oil like gas and smokes but the 4x4 is engaged in 2wd.
I have been driving it in Auto 4x4 for this whole time. On the highway it does seem like its in 2wd but if I try going through a fast food drive thru with left hand turns it binds up in the back.
shifting from Auto to 2wd it blinks and then the 4x4 light comes on and yes it is in 4x4.
when switching into Lock the same light remains lit up. 4x4
when switching from Lock to 4wd Low the 4x4 Low light blinks and then the 4x4 light comes back on.
If anyone has any ideas as to what might be causing this issue I would sure appreciate any input. Thanks. Mark

Try putting it in neutral and pushing the 2wd button. It may just be stuck and can't get out. This is my main complaint with electric drive selection.
