Default Hello

Just recently joined forum. I am in my later 50s and purchased my first Chrysler product 3-4 months ago. I've owned mostly Fords but currently drive a 1994 GMC Safari with 350,000 miles on it. I've owned the vehicle for 21 years and has been arguably the most reliable vehicle I have owned. Unfortunately it is disappearing due to rust.

My latest purchase is a 1997 Ram 1500 regular cab short box 4x4. 5.2,AT, 123,000 mi. I was really looking for an '88 to 05 GM truck but found this and bought it because it is rust free. I am starting to think I paid too much for it as it does have some mechanical issues. I am trying to work through them hence my reason for joining this forum. I like driving it and how it looks. Hopefully can get the issues repaired without breaking the bank. Fortunately I still have the GMC and will keep driving it until something happens to it that is too expensive to fix. Odd as it sounds I might park my 4x4 truck this winter and drive my rwd van to keep my truck out of the salt.

I just repaired the intake manifold with the Hughes aluminum plate. Now need to figure out the cause of the cause of transmission fault code and probably will end up putting a fuel pump in it. Less important but on the list is the MIL light does not work and there is a vacuum leak causing the vents to go to defrost when accelerating.
