Default 2007 dodge caravan engine replacement can I leave the refridgerant in the system

Has anyone ever changed an engine in a dodge caravan without removing the refridgerant. Can you just unbolt the compressor. Or will the lines get in the way.

Depending on the year and engine, you can unbolt the compressor, possibly the mount the compressor and alternator are both on, and move it to one side. Especially if you're dropping the engine out the bottom along with the transmission as a whole unit.

I think that would be aggravating but if you're careful, I've always left the compressor intact and moved to the side. The engine replacement sounds to be more aggravating. I've always done engine and transmissions as a unit, but that's me. I assume, guessing really, if you have an enclosed garage and take your time, it should be doable.
