I recently bought a 2002 Dodge Ram 1500 with the 4.7 V8 for 2300. The interior is in great condition. It has drilled + slotted brake rotors and lifted on airbags. You can tell the original owner took great care and loved the truck.
She has 251k miles but I’m hoping she’ll last 300k to possibly even 350k with the right preventative work & maintenance.
I’ve already changed the oil and refilled with high mileage Mobil 1 oil, and the most expensive filter O’Reilly sold, lol. I sea-foamed the engine and used Mobil 1 fuel system cleaner. I also replaced the spark plugs with high quality ones.
The front left wheel area makes a popping noise, only on hard turns. I am suspecting CV axle so that is currently being replaced.
I want to know what repairs/upgrades I can get ahead on by doing now, that could get this engine to 300-350k miles?
Is that wishful thinking for an 02 Ram 1500? Or is it possible, just hard. Let me know!
