New to this forum
I spent every weekend at York US 30 Dragway, Lancaster Drag-O-Way and other local tracks. I lived to watch, hang out and race at these places all of my teenage life. York US 30 in Pennsylvania was an active airport and was still in operation during the drag racing season, which slowed down some events while planes landed or took off. The best part was it had 4 lanes that where used from time to time for show casing the different manufacturer's cars in "heads up" racing, the cash when down in the stands and the pits as to what auto manufacturer would beat who, more money was won there than given out by the track for prize money.
Then for one reason or another I drifted away from the hobby that I grew up with and really enjoyed? But always planned on someday starting where you left off.
Well I have finally reached that point after a 30 year laps of time from the sport of drag racing. Now I will have to learn an old sport that has changed the way of doing everything. That's why I have joined this forum, to read, listen and with any luck learn.
I have started a project, a 1970 Dodge Challenger RT (original Plum Crazy car) 340 with a 904 tran. I purchased this car in MI a couple years ago (ex. stock class race car) and have started to bring it back to its "hay day" of the early 70's. Thank you for your time, I start learning what you all know.
