Default Hey!

Hey.. I'm new here... I have a 98 Dodge Ram 2500 8 liter v10, ext cab, ext bed, leather interior.... what an awesome truck!. I love the engine and the power, but hate the gas mileage! Need to figure out what i can do to get better mileage. If anyone has any suggestions, let me know. I've heard a K&N Air filter and the tornado might help a little, but not a lot. Also thought about modifying the exhaust.... need it to sound a little meaner.

Attached is a picture of my friend checking the oil in my truck.. Not the best picture, but it's all I've got right now.

Welcome

The best mileage boosters for V10s have been the K&N FIPK (basically a cold air intake) and the fastman throttle body from www.thefastman.com

No matter what you do, you're never going to get great mileage. I average between 13-14 with highway/country driving and 9-10 city. Those are all UNLOADED numbers with the mods that are in my sig (basically just the PCM).

The BIGGEST thing you can do to stretch the mileage in a V10 is to keep your foot OUT of the gas *admits that's very hard to do [8D]*

Is that really possible?? j/k. I raced a friend of mine the other day that has a tundra. Totally kicked his butt! He was speachless! Guess he didn't realize how big my engine actually was. he'll never live that one down.
