Default New Caliber owner from Michigan

Ok I have been posting on the Caliber forum for a bit over a month now, and I thought I should actually introduce myself.

I ordered the Caliber awhile ago and just picked it up Friday afternoon. I love it so far, except the mistake I made in picking the wrong radio since it wont display Artist/Song info for Sirius, it just shows the Channel name in the driver info center. Oh well.

I live in Livonia, MI, and up until now have owned nothing but Ford's, as you can see from my sig. There is also a 93' Tempo that should be in there which was my very first vehicle, but I did not have it long because of the Sport Trac coming in.

So far I am happy with my first Dodge, and as long as it keeps up with the reliability of my Ford trucks then I will be keeping it. So far it seems pretty solid, only problem is that the hatch has been giving me some trouble when closing. It does not seem to be closing completely, even when using extra force, it sometimes takes a couple tries. But it seems to be getting better, I figure the seals might just need to loosen up a bit.

Anyway, my first impressions of the car are in the Caliber forum, and pics are at the link below. They arent great pics so I dont have them added to my Gallery yet, but when I get some better ones I will post them.

Thanks all!

Welcome to the site. As a newbie myself I am looking forward to discussions with everyone interested in Dodge and general automotive issues. I'm on my way to Florida next week to retire in my 06 Magnum RT.
Regards

Welcome to DF VulnoX

I've been down to the local dealership and they are a really sharp car!
Good luck with it!

Mike

P.S. I think I remember reading somewhere that they had to pull some of the Calibers back in from the factory lots to issue a new seal on the rear gate because the "old" one was leaking. A thicker than "normal" gasket that needs to be worked in might be the reason for the repeated closeing of the back.
I replaced the rear seal on the trunk of my car and had a hard time closing it for a couple months.<-Of course I didn't use the trunck alot.

Thanks for the info, I had heard about the seal issue as well, it actually held up me getting the car for a couple weeks. I am thinking that is what it is, because as I said it seems to be getting better through some use.

Thanks to all for the welcome!
