Default New '99 3500 Dually

Ran across your forum while looking for info on my new purchase; a '99 Dodge 1-ton with the 5.9L I6 Cummins. It has 139K miles on it, but it's never had a hitch of any kind in the bed. It evidently only pulled using the receiver hitch, so I don't think it's pulled anything really heavy. It's my first diesel. I traded in my 2500 5.9L V-8 GAS-HOG because I was getting 7mpg pulling my 28ft 5th wheel. Everyone around here says that they are getting 13-15mpg with their diesels, pulling. Any of you familiar with the '99 Cummins and what I can expect, mileage-wise?

Thanks, James. So far I've gotten a quick response to my questions. Not being a mechanic, it's nice to have access to those that know what they're doing.
