Default New here - Intro Post for y'all

Hey All

I just got a 2003 Dodge Dakota Sport, Quad cab, which is not only my first Dodge, but also my first modern vehicle. Since I started getting cars of my own, I've only ever owned oldies since I don't have much of a love of modern cars. My last car is/was a 1975 Pontiac Laurentian (same as the Catalina in the US) which served me faithfully for years, but now it's body mounts are failing, even though it still runs great.

In replacing the Pontiac, I decided I'd get something new for a change, but wanted something built tough and well, and with the same cabin and carrying capacity as the Pontiac or better. Well that pretty much ruled out any modern day car. So I started looking into trucks. My neighbour, brother and best friend all have Dodges and love them, so I started looking into Rams and Dakotas. Eventually I found an awesome deal on a barely used 2003 Dakota with a canopy and bought it.

The next classic are I get (would sure love a '70 Charger R/T) will be more of an occasional use car that I can keep up better, but until then, I look forward to pampering, upgrading and tweaking the new truck while I bask in the wonders of modern vehicles... like cup holders.
