Hi.
I come from a long line of GM owners. I "inherited" my first Dakota from my in-law's company shortly after I was married. It was a black '89 short box reg cab 4x4 and it ROCKED! I absolutely loved that truck! I could comfortably spin it around in a crowded snow-covered parking lot to aim for a parking spot and slid right in. It was still running strong at 14 years old and over 250 000kms when I had to let it go. It came to the point that it needed more work than I had the skill, time, money and inclination to do. The road salt was not kind.
Within a year, though, I repaced it with a newer Dakota. I found an '02 quad cab 4x4 with a price I couldn't walk away from. With a family now, the quad cab was a must. I love my new truck as much as my old one! It's different, but still great. Since then, we've replaced my wife's Civic with a Grand Caravan. So I guess I'm pretty much a Dodge convert now.
I'm not sure how much I can contribute for help mechanically, but I'll certainly throw in my 2 cents when I can. I've got a few questions to ask, but I can wait 'till later.
I look forward to posting.
Hmm. I'm a "Backseat Driver". Good thing I have a back seat.
