Hi,
I just bought my first Dodge Ram. It's a 1997 1500 regular cab, 2wd, long bed. The guy I got it from was told the motor was going to sieze soon. It has the check engine light on and a miss in the motor. I personally think it is the plenum and or the intake gaskets. And I believe it is in need of a tune-up. It blows no smoke at any time whether I gun it or on start-up. Otherwise, the body and interior are excellent and it only has 50k miles on it. I got it for a whopping $2,700.00. I thought it was a good deal. Let me know what you think. I'm glad to be part of your forum.
