Supercharged 3.0 sohc engine!!!!
Perhaps if you beat the crap out of it and dont keep up on the routine checkups.
opinions are opinions.
just because it is a 3.0 and not some big *** v-8 does not make it crap.
so please do not call the 3.0 "junk".
If i see a Roadrunner drive down the street with blue smoke pouring out the pipes
as i blast past it in my 3.0 shadow im not going to say that those motors are all "mostly" junk.
A Dodge is a Dodge no matter what.
no need to argue.

As a matter-o-fact i did blow a rod and piston and oil filter all off or out of that engine.(past)
However, a brand new 3.3L With the sohc stealth heads and a 52mm throttle body with a 2.5 custom side outlet exh and 4cyl turbo gearing. Along with many other little engine upgrades. its not the average 3.0 shadow.(see other posts)
But i dont see any smoke...
Even when it blew up the only smoke came from under the hood. Not the tail pipe.
upkeep is everything and with that engine you must know that.
Consider the "ice" to be broken. I dont get mad unless im driving and am almost killed by a "bad" driver. Anything else is a wast of time, life is too short to be pissed at it.
I'm glad we talked.(posted)

Roadswimmer - get educated before you start spewing stuff like that. It was not the rings, but bad valve guides. It was fixed in 93 and recalls were issued for prior models. The oil burning cars you see are people who disregarded the recall. We had an 88 dynasty, the second year and a real canidate, but we never had a problem because we had it fixed for free.
I say this as a 3.0 disliker even. If you want speed, a turbo 2.2/2.5 is the only reliable way to go with the k-cars and the extended k's. Its been done, but not cheaply and not without a huge learning curve with 3.0's.
