it is worth noting
the durablilty of the Ford transmission
compared to the GM example above
and also to the typical 120,000 to 180,000 mile life of Dodge pickup transmissions.

1,000,000 miles is physically impossible without a rebuild. You would either lose compression or something else. Things wear down over time obviously, especially a Chevy

There was a Benz Taxi a few years ago that had well over 2 million miles on it

I don't find it hard to believe at all that he would put 1 million miles on a SBC. Hell even the lead designer for the LA series engines openly admitted the SBC was a better engine...
