I've seen what happens when a ball joint fails. Someone could have been injured or in a bad place, easily killed by the resulting accident.

Actually there were several reports of injuries due to accidents caused by the failed ball joints. The sad reality is Chrysler was notified of the problem almost seven years ago. Chrysler is notorious for dragging their feet to call a recall. The govt just about has to make them do it. And even worse Chrysler kept building them the same way for years. You have to give ford credit, a design change must have been made since this only affects one model year. Their numbers always seem rather large, but remember they sell over three times as many F150's as we do Rams.

how do u figure. they sold 939,511 trucks last year and we sold 426,289 rams. how is that over 3 times more. thats really hardly over 2. it was 2.2 times more. they don't outsell us all that bad. more then three times.... ford doesn't deserve credit. start by looking at their cars, especially the mustang.

 

If I remember correctly that ram number your using is all rams 1500,2500,3500. Ford sold that many just F150's. If I remember our sales figures at work we sold just over 300000 1500's. And you can call the Mustang crap all you want, but they won't be able to build enough of them to keep up. Meanwhile here in DumblerChrysler land we are slowing down big time! And the release of the new Charger is only going to continue the downward spiral. I'm just saying at least Ford admits when it screwed up, we seem to have a bit of a problem facing the music.

^ I am forced to agree completely. The problem happened with the Prowler 1st and then they used the same ball joints on the Durango.....duh!

 

Some folks seem to have all the answers and will just not let any facts get in their way!

 

i think ford is crap! dodge can build cars that burst into flames when the odometer hits 50k...and id still hate ford.

 

But you'd probably be driving a Shivvy if that were the case.....[sm=smiley36.gif]
