RE: 2008 GTO good job pontiac
Its not canceled its just delayed and thats straight from a letter by Bob Lutz. Thier holding it back here so they can push out other products first. But the platform will be used internationally. As for the 08' GTO, there will be one and it will be new. Thier gonna build on it on platform that can be used for front, all-wheel and rear wheel drive. So its pretty legit, Secondly the pick is out of a 2 page 08' GTO spread in motor trend, im pretty sure its legit.

That picture is not of the next GTO. The next generation GTO and the rebirth of the Camaro, have been put on hold, since they were to be put on GM's Zeta platform, which was axed last month. If the GTO is still in production at the end of the current car's run in 2006; the next GTO will still be built off of the Holden Monaro platform because of the death of the Zeta platform. Even if the GTO and Camaro were to get the Zeta platform, it looked like they were to be build on the Holden line in Elizabeth, Austrailia.
Personally, everyone knows I love the current Holden Monaro/Pontiac GTO... but I truely would love to see the 1999 Pontiac GTO Concept come back on the axed Zeta platform w/ the 400 horsepower 6.0L "LS2" V-8. The concept used many design cues from the 1969 Pontiac GTO Judge, and sorta looked like a modern Batmobile. The car had the muscluar Pontiac design look.
