HAHA...ramfan5.9, when you get your license, drive a C6 and then come back and talk about how underpowered it is. It's a factory 12 second car for 50K. Not too many cars out there can run 12's out of the box, and precious few are under 50K. (I'm starting to sound like a magazine racer...I may have to beat my own *** now)

Personally, I don't like the GNX version of the GTO. The GTO is a nice car. Fast, nice looking (IMO), and it has one of the best interiors of any car I've ever been in. I just don't like it when companies slap some tape stripes on a car and call it something else. If Buick is going to resurrect the GNX name, I hope they have the sense to do it right. Then again, what I think is right, may be what someone else thinks is crazy.

oh my god....dont even start that eww a gto bull****!!! who cares!!! i think it looks awsome!!! finally a new buick i would love to buy...but i dont get people..they say oh i like the original design better...well i know for a damm fact if they went retro with it, everyone would go "eww they killed the design" GRR PEOPLE!! no matter what a car brand does, no ones happy. people need to stop that. who cares, the performance for the $$ is amazing. but i like the new GNX.....yes its a holden.but i like the gnx's front facia and the hood scoops and the black rims...and the side ports. DROOLS!!! this IS indeed a modern muscle car. but damm give
GM some slack, at least there working on the RWD issue.

 

the problem is that buick isnt concerned with appealing to those who want a performance car....they are concerned with appealing to those who need craftmatic adjustable beds, walkers with wheels on them, and who demand a better poligrip.

 

GM would never produce it...they only slated one V8 for performance numbers other then that they are luxury based. The only grand national there was was in the 80s and they were bitchin fast but not 450 HP...Plus GM doesnt want to upstage the vette. And the Z06 vette is now slated for a 500HP motor so look forward to dodge stepping it up again...

 

I remember the 87 Buick GNX, it was a supercar right out of the factory. Not many factory turbo V6's out there in that time period that can pull a big car down the 1/4 to the low 13's with stock tires. Put some slicks on them, it'll drop to the 12's. Too bad they did not bring back that 3800 engine. I remember it was pushing 328 HP and 4xx lbs of torque

The standard 87 GN specs were 245 HP and 360 lbs of torque. GN's won the tire smoker awards from all that torque!

 

I know the reattas were a failure but Id kinda like to see GM come out with a supercharged 3800 or turbocharged...They were kinda ahead of their time IMO. Basically it was to buick what the crossfire is to chrysler.

 

They do have a supercharged 3800. They have had it for a long time. The newest one puts out 260HP. It's in the Pontiac Grand Prix GTP, Buick Regal GS, Chevy Monte Carlo SS, Chevy Impala SS, Pontiac Bonneville SSEi and Buick Park Avenue Ultra. It's been around since about 1992 in one form or another.

I know they have them I used to have a GTP, my sis has a GS, and a few of my friends have GTPs too. im just sayin I would like to see em come out w/ one for the reattas if they make em in the future. in the past it would have been nice to see a SC 3800 in the reattas.

 

Buick doesnt even race anymore so I doubt we will ever see another regal grand national again, and at the rate GM is going they will probly have to dump the Buick franchise just like they did to Oldsmobile just to stay afloat...

 

HOLY ****. I COMPLETELY AGREE WHAT DISRESPECT FOR THE GNX AS WELL AS OUR VERY OWN CHARGER

Although Chrysler will redeem itself with the release of the 2009 Challenger that is official. My uncle works at DCX and the Challenger is going to be a car that will take the LX platfor just like the rest as well as the 5.7 and 6.1 Hemi's....now the year is not set.... but it was a 2007 concept..now the chargers were supposed to be late 2004's or early 2005's and look they are 2006's but yeah back to the point....
